Overview

Elsword (Korean: 엘소드) is an action fantasy MMORPG game released by Nexon in 2007 in South Korea. The game was originally made with the intention of becoming the spiritual successor of Grand Chase by upgrading the graphics from 2D to 2.5D.

Story

Once upon a time, there was a remote, desolate continent of darkness.

Barren ground, sea storms and violent disasters were everywhere, and this place had become an abandoned land. The continent is known by various names such as "The Abandoned Land" or "The Catastrophe of God". Scary legends sprang up around this ravaged land and people stayed away from the land at all costs.

One day, there was a miraculous change in this place. The earth has been plowed, trees everywhere have begun to sprout, the sea has become calm, the storm has become a gentle breeze, life on this continent has been reborn.

Among those miracles, there was a giant jewel that gave off a magical light that dispels the darkness. Everyone was surprised at the power of the stone and also very surprised at what happened. In particular, they gave the diamond a name: they called it El Stone.

Centuries have passed, the dark past of this continent has passed into the past and become a legend, it is gradually fading into the past. The trees flourished, the ground here brought the harvest and gave the people here a leisurely life. Before long, they called this land the "Land of Depraved God" by another name Elrios.

But one day, El Stone suddenly weakened. Losing the sustaining energy source, the whole world fell into an unbalanced state. Taking that opportunity, the dark forces attacked, kidnapped the Nun (El Lady) and took the El stone with the goal of domination. And then the main character Elsword decided to fight to save El Lady and find out the cause of El Stone's weakening. Along the way, he befriends many other characters in a team called El Search Party. The people in the El Search Party all have a common goal, which is to save the decaying world.
