Overview
Trauma blender (トラウマブレンダー, torauma burendā) is a type of crossover work of traumatic content from two or more pieces of media put into one work. It was perhaps made as a departure of trauma breaker.
The first tag was added around the time that the death scene of Mami Tomoe in Puella Magi Madoka Magica episode 3. The scene was so gruesome that it reminded one of the scene in Muv-Luv Alternative where Sergeant Jinguuji Marimo is preyed upon and killed by a BETA. This is the reason why an illustration of Kyubey looking like a soldier was posted on pixiv.
This is why many of the works tagged with the tag have illustrations based on Puella Magi Madoka Magica, but note that the meaning of the tag is "a blend of two or more types of trauma" and is by no means a tag dedicated to Puella Magi Madoka Magica.
