The title indicates Yggdra, the game's protagonist. The "hope" in her hands refers to the Holy Sword Gran Centurio, passed down through the royal family for generations.
At the beginning of the story, Yggdra, who has lost her parents and country, ran to the land at the very south of the continent. Together with the thief boy Milanor she meets there, she swears to take back her fallen country from the hands of the invaders.
In addition, this chapter features events such as the first appearance of Milanor's childhood friend Kylier, Yggdra and Milanor rescuing the knight Durant, and the foundation and first victory of the Royal Army.
