Overview
Ruins (廃墟, haikyo) are buildings that have not been maintained or managed and are left to decay. Roads, railways, bridges, etc. are also included in ruins.
Some have been left to rot after having fulfilled their roles, while others have sustained catastrophic damage and are inaccessible to the public. In many cases, they are treated as remains or historical sites.
