Magi

Magi (Tag name: マギ) is an Arabian Nights-themed Japanese manga written and illustrated by Shinobu Ohtaka, currently serializing in Weekly Shounen Sunday starting June 2009. It is also known as "Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic".

Adaption

An anime adaption of the manga will start airing on December, 2012 onwards, Sunday 5pm (JST) at MBS, and TBS.

Synopsis

Aladdin is traveler with a magic flute that summons a djinn named Ugo. However, the djinn has a huge and muscular body with no head, which gives him a headless appearance. Due to this, he is frequently misunderstood, even when he tries to rescue people. Soon, the two meet Alibaba, a seemingly greedy and aloof young man who is trying to get rich, and realizes that Ugo would be a powerful ally to explore a nearby treasure-filled dungeon. As they adventure together, they become true friends, along with Morgianna, a slave girl from a distant land that they free from her master. The three encounter other djinn and find hints that they may be destined to decide who will rule the world.
